(as much as I love my helper, this is a much better picture of the quilt. That bit of pieced binding on the bottom is so perfect.)
She also took the time to make this pouch in the most perfect color combo, and send all those solids for my stash. I'm sure you guys will be seeing those put to good use soon.
I also went to my second Cincinnati Modern Quilt Guild meeting this week and we swapped mini quilts. (I made this one for the swap.) I got this adorable piece by Amy. I love the bright colors and the solids she chose. I also love anything in that diamond shape.
And how perfect does it look in my kitchen above my shelf of Fiesta wear?! Amy might be a clairvoyant and a techbrarian. (Pah ha... am I aloud to have inside jokes with you guild girls yet? Should I wait a few more meetings, what's the protocol on that?)
i love how generous quilters are! beautiful stuff!
ReplyDeleteI keep getting more and more jealous with every post I see of those fabulous Solids Swap items! You really did score! Love the quilt and that pouch is completely awesome! And the mini from your guild looks great, too! Lucky duck!
ReplyDeleteDon't take me wrong, but you made out like a bandit! ;-) Just beautiful - ALL of it!
ReplyDeleteYou totally scored! And ooh, I'm so jealous of your beautiful Fiesta collection. I only have four place settings worth, but I do have that awesome pitcher in Peacock!

ReplyDeleteUh, yes you're allowed - and expected - to be just as snarky and silly as the rest of us. {Sorry about the deleted comment - I hate typos. Makes me feel like everyone who reads it thinks I'm dumb. I know - get over myself, right?}
ReplyDeletewow, that quilt is fabulous. I'm inspired by the juxtaposition between the very square design with the piecing but the circular quilting. very cool
ReplyDeleteWow...you scored by getting matched up with some fabulously talented folks. Such beautiful pieces. Oh, and I'm swooning over your Fiesta ware. :)
ReplyDeleteYou hit the jackpot!
ReplyDeleteMy other half and I are ADDCITED to Fiesta as well! She's from West Virginia where it's made and there's an increeeedible seconds shop there where you can get pieces at very low prices that are practically perfect.
ReplyDeleteI need to learn more about this modern quilting club! Next time I'm in sewn I'll have to ask you about it. :)
