Mommy decides to make another extended-brim bucket hat, this time for Elsie, 13 months.
She loves the way baby girl looks with the simple white outside and the fun Amy Butler Lark print framing her face around the brim. Mommy could spread that cuteness on a cracker and eat it up.
Elsie gives Mommy one last knowing smile, waving that lonely top tooth at her as if to say, "I know you really want me to wear this when I'm outside...
... but who are you kidding?"
Elsie goes back to her preferred squinty-in-the-sun face.
Ah well, at least it's big enough that it will probably fit for a couple years. Maybe it can get 10-15 minutes of wear over that time period.
SO CUTE!!! I think I am going to have make some of these for our upcoming beach trip, that is to say...if i have enough time!! :) I totally know the feeling!! When I made Henry his Huck Finn hat for Easter he refused to put it on for more than two seconds at a time...Miraculously he put it on and wore it ALL day on Easter, but hasn't worn it since!! Hopefully in the fall...

ReplyDeleteLove the bold fabric playing peek-a-boo underneath! I want one like that for myself! Very classy and pretty. Would she freak out if you put chin straps on it? My Reid would have, but Owen would have eventually given in I think. :)

ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE the solid exterior with the big funky Amy Butler print hiding underneath. The white is adorable (even though it would probably stay clean for all of 2 minutes around my kids :) )
ReplyDeleteO will wear his for a couple seconds, rip it off but keep holding onto it, then try to put it back on all wonky, saying "Haaa, haaa" over and over. Maybe it's just the "under 2's." She does look DARN cute in it, though, and I love that Lark print! Maybe she'll come around. I should post my bucket hats tomorrow...it'll be a bucket hat bonanza! :)

ReplyDeleteGreat hat! My 13-month old likes to wear a hat, pull it right off, then give it to me to put back on him again. Over and over and over. It's a fun game :).
